Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding: Introduction

Founded in Mykolaiv as a technical school in the first years of the twentieth century, the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding has spent its whole life supplying the naval engineers, welders, and designers who kept the region's great yards running. It carries the name of Stepan Makarov, the Russian admiral and naval theorist who was born in this very city, a fitting patron for an institution where the sea and the classroom have always been inseparable.
