To see Dogon country properly you walk - down arduous scrambles off the plateau, along trails where village women pass you carrying their loads on their heads, past granaries and shrines built into a cliff that runs for a hundred and fifty kilometers. This is not a place you drive through. It is a place you earn on foot, one village at a time.]]></description>
