That is what a good night on the Sesan could yield before the water rose - enough to feed a household, sell some in Stung Treng, and carry a family through the dry months. Villagers working the same reach today describe hauling ten kilos on a decent night, and often less than that. Between those two numbers stands a wall 75 meters high and 7,729 meters long, twenty-five kilometers east of the provincial capital, on one of the Mekong's largest tributaries. The Lower Sesan 2 opened on 18 December 2018, and it is the largest hydropower dam Cambodia has ever built.]]></description>
