On 16 September 1991, in the small town of Mutxamel just north of Alicante, the Basque separatist group ETA sent a driverless car loaded with explosives rolling toward the local Civil Guard barracks - and it missed, veering off and crashing harmlessly into the wall of a nearby bank. But a bomb that does not explode on schedule is still a bomb. The police, seeing only an abandoned vehicle, had it towed to a car pound. There it detonated, killing three men who had nothing to do with the fight it belonged to.]]></description>
