Before a boat has even stopped, porters are wading into the water to meet it, hauling out trays and buckets brimming with the day's catch. This is the Nouakchott fish market, the Port de Peche, on the Atlantic edge of Mauritania's capital, and for a few hours every afternoon it is one of the most vivid scenes on the entire West African coast.]]></description>
