They were a university lecturer, a Baptist minister, and a Carmarthenshire schoolmaster turned novelist. The building they burned was the half-finished bombing school the Royal Air Force was constructing on land that had been Penyberth, a working farmhouse with seven centuries of literary history. When the flames were going well enough to be sure, the three men walked together to Pwllheli police station and gave themselves up.
