Ten houses, no more. Boats, nets, the river going about its slow brown business. The entire documented account of Prek Sbauv amounts to those directions and that house count — and one further fact, which is that on 19 May 1925 a boy named Saloth Sar was born here. Fifty years later he was running Cambodia under the name Pol Pot, and by the time his government fell in 1979 an estimated 1.5 to 2 million Cambodians were dead: roughly one in four.]]></description>
