      <description><![CDATA[Below the surface of the bay there are meadows. Eelgrass meadows, swaying in the cold green water, and beds of pink coralline maerl that look like underwater coral but are alive in their own slow way. There are reefs built by horse mussels stacked together, and forests of kelp where the bottom drops away. Ramsey Bay covers 94 square kilometres off the northeast corner of the Isle of Man, from the Point of Ayre at the island's northern tip down to Maughold Head, and most of what makes it special you would never see from the deck of a boat.]]></description>
