The raiders had also carried off something that would matter more to the powerful than the lives of a hundred villagers: a silver ciborium holding the consecrated hosts. That theft turned a routine coastal raid into a religious outrage, and set in motion a war of revenge that reached all the way to North Africa.]]></description>
