The last men allowed onto the island came to lay the power and water lines, and when the gut renovation was finished they left. That was the arrangement. Kristina Roth bought 8.4 acres of Finnish skerry in 2017 and set a single rule over it: no men, with exceptions only for the contractors doing the work and for her own close family and friends. For six summers the place ran as SuperShe Island, a women-only retreat in the Raseborg archipelago that charged €4,600 for a week and generated more international column inches than a three-hectare rock in the Gulf of Finland has any business generating. Then, in late 2023, it was sold to a man.
